Berners-Schober Associates, Inc. is an interdisciplinary firm specializing in community-focused facilities. We have woven together our team of architects, engineers, interior designers, and planners to create lasting buildings for medical, educational, municipal, recreational, religious, and commercial facilities.
At Berners-Schober Associates, we believe the environment of a building influences the lives, performance, and mind-set of its users, and are committed to identifying these visceral qualities and creating structures which accentuate the users' experience. Our philosophy is to design buildings which are both functional and distinctive while maintaining strength, habitability, and efficiency of spaces.
Our firm brings a depth of experience to our projects, which has developed over our 110 year history. Equipped with skills which are founded on sound technical knowledge and understanding of the design processes, we offer seamless professional services from initial review, to schematic design and design development, through to construction administration and solid project follow-up.

Our committment to the client does not end with the completion of the building. We work with the client to provide a complete Facilities Management package for building maintenance, employee and asset tracking, and other services specific to the clients' needs.
Our firm of over 57 architects, engineers, interior designers, and technical experts are led by the six directors who average more than 28 years of experience each with our firm. They provide expertise across all in-house disciplines and maintain a lead role in all current projects. The principals are Lowell J. Baumgardt, A.I.A., H. Richard Dannhausen, A.I.A., CCS, Joseph G. Dettlaff, P.E., Daniel N. Dallich, A.I.A., Thaina Unsin Farah, A.S.I.D., and Brian P. Meulemans, P.E. Their knowledge, combined with the talent of our professional team, allows us to be an integral resource to clients throughout the lifecycle of their building.
