Libraries: Inspiring spaces.functional places
The Pyle Center, Madison, UW-Madison campus
The Rosemary Garfoot Public Library in Cross Plains, WI is a new eco-friendly library that is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) library in Wisconsin. This new, 16,500 square foot facility is a sustainable, high-performance "green" building designed to promote good economics, community ethic, and environmental stewardship.

Speakers:
Pam Bosben, Director, Rosemary Garfoot Public Library, has been with the library for 25 years, beginning as a library page in her teens. She will share her insights from the 12 year process of planning and building the library.

Ian Griffiths, R.I.B.A. of Berners-Schober Associates, Inc., and Valentine Schute, A.I.A. of River Architects, will discuss the benefits and growing pains associated with designing and constructing this innovative public library.
